Job summary

Newsquest Media Group is seeking a Senior Reporter to cover Andover and the Test Valley, based in Salisbury. The role requires building contacts, covering business, events, crime, courts, politics and breaking news across digital, social and print platforms.

You will be part of one of the UK''s largest local news publishers, with opportunities for development and a broad benefits package. Weekend and shift flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• NCTJ Preliminary Diploma including shorthand is required.

Responsibilities

• Source and produce engaging news, feature and community content for digital, social and print audiences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contacts across the local community.
• Attend events, meetings and breaking news incidents across the patch.
• Conduct interviews and gather accurate information from various sources.
• Create multimedia content including photography and video.
• Write clean, accurate and engaging copy to tight deadlines.
• Use audience insights, SEO and social media to maximise reach and engagement.
• Meet agreed productivity and audience targets.
