Job summary

Skycare is seeking an Activities Coordinator for a full-time role in a nursing home in Luton. You will plan and lead a broad programme of engaging activities to enrich residents' lives, promote wellbeing, and foster social interaction.

The role focuses on person-centred activities for older adults, including those with dementia, and involves working with families and the care team to deliver meaningful experiences daily.

Qualifications

• Experience as Activities Coordinator or similar in care, health or hospitality settings.
• GCSEs in English and Maths.
• Experience planning activities for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities.
• Organise group and one-to-one activities to support residents' wellbeing.
• Develop person-centred activity plans based on residents' interests.
• Encourage resident participation and inclusion across the home.
• Organise outings, events, and community engagement activities.
• Coordinate visits from entertainers, schools, and volunteers.
• Support residents living with dementia through meaningful activities.
• Monitor participation and gather feedback to improve programmes.
• Maintain accurate records of resident engagement.
• Collaborate with care staff to ensure safe activity delivery.
• Ensure activities comply with health & safety and CQC standards.
