Job summary

Keoghs Scotland in Glasgow seeks an experienced Associate to join its Healthcare and Large Loss teams. The role is hybrid and involves handling a varied caseload for insurers and corporate risk clients.

Applicants should have 5-10 years' litigation experience and be able to appear in the Sheriff Court and instruct in the Court of Session. Experience in clinical negligence and/or large loss claims is essential.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years' litigation experience
• Experience in All-Scotland Personal Injury Court and Court of Session
• Experience in clinical negligence and/or large loss claims
• Proven ability to manage own caseload and meet court deadlines
• Ability to build relationships with clients and insurers
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Team oriented with ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Run a caseload of pre- and post-litigation clinical negligence and large loss claims.
• Prepare advice for insurers and corporate clients.
• Adhere to court deadlines and client SLA requirements.
• Conduct forensic review of documents to assess liability and quantum.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, witnesses and experts.
• Prepare court documents and witness statements.
• Instruct experts and counsel as needed.
• Support Partners and team colleagues; contribute to business development.
