An established and well-regarded firm in Hertfordshire is seeking a highly experienced Senior Litigation Solicitor to lead their busy litigation department. This is a senior-level opportunity ideal for a driven individual with strong leadership skills, looking to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a department, with a clear path to Partnership.

About the Role:

You’ll handle a complex and varied caseload, including:

• Property disputes
• Landlord and tenant issues
• Commercial litigation (including partnership and shareholder disputes)
• Boundary and neighbour disputes
• Insolvency and restructuring

This position involves both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, including department leadership, mentoring junior staff, and active involvement in business development to grow the team and client base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Litigation department with strategic direction and hands-on casework
• Manage a caseload of complex and high-value disputes
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior team members
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure cross-practice success
• Drive business development and contribute to the firm's local and regional profile
• Maintain compliance and up-to-date legal knowledge

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years’ PQE in civil and commercial litigation
• Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong client development and networking skills
• Excellent communicator with a proactive and confident approach
• Proven ability to meet financial targets and manage files independently
• Ambition and commercial awareness
