Job summary

Bluestaq Limited is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to own and operate secure AWS-based environments supporting NATO delivery. You’ll handle configuration, monitoring, upgrades and incident response, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with engineering, cyber and data teams.

This is an individual contributor role with a clear technical path to Lead Systems Administrator, reporting to the Systems Administration Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Linux systems administration in secure production environments.
• Sound networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls and routing.
• Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker or Packer.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more systems or environments, including configuration, monitoring and alerting, upgrades and incident response.
• Debug difficult faults, including performance problems, resource exhaustion and integration failures, and drive to root cause fixes.
• Configure and tune services with secure, hardened defaults, and translate logs into remediation.
• Plan and execute upgrades and changes under change control with risk assessment and rollback tests.
• Act as escalation point for colleagues, mentor them, and document reusable runbooks and SOPs.
