Job summary

Sopra Steria is seeking a Linux Infrastructure & Platform Architect to own the design, automation and evolution of enterprise-scale platforms. The role focuses on high-performance Linux environments, HPC workloads, container orchestration and hybrid on‑prem/cloud infrastructures, with DV clearance eligibility.

This hands-on leadership position requires shaping architectural direction, driving automation, and mentoring teams across DevOps, Security and Operations to deliver resilient, scalable

Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Strong knowledge of HPC infrastructure and Slurm workload management.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering Linux infrastructure architectures.
• Solid understanding of Linux security, virtualization, storage, networking, and performance tuning.
• Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, project delivery and problem solving.
• Eligible for DV clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, administration, optimisation and support of large-scale Linux environments.
• Architect and support HPC platforms including compute, storage, networking and scheduling.
• Design, deploy and manage container/orchestration platforms for modern apps.
• Drive technical design, technology selection and infra transformation projects.
• Design and support hybrid on-prem and cloud environments (VMware/Nutanix + public cloud).
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and automation with emphasis on Ansible.
• Modernise operations and migrate from Puppet, promoting automation-first approaches.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Operations, PMO, Applications and CTO teams; provide mentoring.
• Provide expert troubleshooting across Linux, cloud, storage, networking, virtualization and platforms.
