Job summary

Sopra Steria Limited is seeking a Linux Infrastructure & Platform Architect to own the design, automation and evolution of enterprise-scale Linux environments in a hybrid UK setup. You will lead HPC platform delivery, container orchestration and automation initiatives (Ansible), while shaping security, performance and resilience across on‑premises (VMware, Nutanix) and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering enterprise Linux environments.
• Strong knowledge of HPC infrastructure and Slurm.
• Proven design and delivery of Linux infrastructure architectures.
• Security, virtualization, storage, networking, and performance tuning expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management, documentation and delivery skills.
• Eligible for DV Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, administration, optimization and support of large-scale Linux environments.
• Architect and support HPC platforms including compute, storage, networking and workload scheduling.
• Design, deploy and manage container/orchestrator platforms for modern apps.
• Drive technical design, technology selection and infra transformation projects.
• Design and support hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructures (VMware, Nutanix, cloud).
• Develop and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code and automation with Ansible.
• Champion automation-first approaches and migration from Puppet.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Operations, PMO, Applications, and CTO teams.
• Provide troubleshooting, technical leadership and mentoring across platforms.
