Job description

Senior Liferay DXP Software Developer

We urgently require a Senior Liferay DXP Software Developer with at least 3 to 5 years of experience working with Liferay and Java.

The project involves a Liferay DXP Upgrade.

You will be involved in technical discussions on how to best modify current hooks in 6.2 for easy migration to Liferay DXP.

Additionally, technical consultancy will be required to define strategies and approaches for content migration and structuring.

The role includes responsibilities such as:

1. Creating scripts to migrate snippet portlet preferences to Liferay Content
2. Developing templates to display migrated content via Liferay content portlet
3. Automating the replacement of existing snippet portlets with Liferay content portlets displaying appropriate content

Part of the project will also involve knowledge transfer and training on best practices for using Liferay DXP, covering:

• Deployment
• Workstation/developer environment setup
• Dependency management
• Continuous integration

This is a 6-month contract based in Reading.
