Job summary

IPS Group are supporting a leading insurer to recruit a Senior Underwriter for its Life Science team. You will own the portfolio's largest renewal accounts and shape technical direction while mentoring junior colleagues.

With strong underwriting experience in Life Science, Property & Casualty or Commercial Combined, you will combine technical excellence with commercial sense to drive growth, contribute to trading discussions and represent the team in leadership forums.

Qualifications

• Extensive underwriting experience in Life Science, Property & Casualty or Commercial Combined.
• Ability to mentor juniors and lead portfolio growth.
• Strong technical and commercial awareness.
• Excellent relationship building with brokers.

Responsibilities

• Own the portfolio's largest renewal accounts and negotiate terms.
• Underwrite risks across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, clinical trials, cosmetics, vitamins & supplements, and research & development organisations.
• Act as a technical referral point and support the development of junior team members.
• Contribute to trading discussions and strategic decisions, deputise for the Team Manager when required.
