EVI LTD is seeking a Senior Life Safety Commissioning & Technical Supervisor to lead the installation, commissioning and handover of life safety systems on high-rise and new-build projects in London and the Southeast.

The role blends hands-on technical work with site leadership, mentoring engineers and coordinating with clients, project managers and main contractors to deliver safe, compliant systems on time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fire and life safety
• Hands-on commissioning and fault finding experience
• Knowledge of BS 5839
• Experience with high-rise developments
• CSCS/ECS card or equivalent, SSSTS/SMSTS
• FIA certification and LPCB/BAFE experience
• Leading engineers and subcontractors on site

Responsibilities

• Support install and delivery of life safety systems
• Commissioning, configuring and testing life safety systems

Senior Life Safety Commissioning & Technical Supervisor

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum
Location: London & Southeast
Hours: MondayFriday, 8:00am5:00pm

Are you an experienced Life Safety Commissioning Engineer or Technical Supervisor looking for your next challenge? Our projects include high-rise developments, new-build residential schemes, occupied residential buildings and commercial premises. We are looking for an experienced Senior Life Safety Commissioning & Technical Supervisor who enjoys a varied role, can manage multiple priorities and is comfortable taking ownership from installation through to commissioning, handover and client support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine hands-on technical work with site leadership, mentoring and client interaction. As Senior Life Safety Commissioning & Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of life safety systems from installation through to commissioning, testing and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the installation and delivery of life safety systems, including:
• Disabled Refuge Systems
• Toilet Alarm Systems
• Commissioning, configuring and testing life safety systems
• Carrying out fault finding, diagnostics and technical troubleshooting
• Interpreting technical drawings, schematics and project specifications
• Ensuring systems are installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with relevant industry standards and client requirements
• Supervising, mentoring and supporting engineers and subcontractors on site
• Leading works on high-rise developments, new builds and occupied residential and commercial buildings
• Working closely with installation teams, project managers, design teams, main contractors and clients
• Carrying out site surveys, inspections, testing and system handovers
• Liaising with clients and other stakeholders to coordinate works and resolve technical issues
• Completing commissioning documentation, reports and certification accurately
• Maintaining accurate records of commissioning activities, system configurations and test results
• Providing on-site and remote technical support when required
• Delivering client training and supporting the production of handover documentation
• Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company and Health & Safety requirements

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for someone with strong practical experience and a proven background in life safety systems.

• 5+ years' practical experience within the fire and life safety industry
• Strong hands-on commissioning and fault-finding experience
• Good working knowledge of BS 5839
• Experience with C-Tec, Apollo and AOC systems
• Experience commissioning and troubleshooting fire alarm and associated life safety systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and specifications
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
• CSCS/ECS card or equivalent
• SSSTS or SMSTS
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio
• Experience using CRM systems
• FIA certification
• LPCB or BAFE experience/certification
• Experience with leading fire alarm platforms such as Advanced, Morley and C-Tec
• Knowledge of system integration and IP-based networking
• Experience working on high-rise residential developments
• Experience supervising engineers and subcontractors
• Manufacturer-specific commissioning qualifications
