Job summary

Chainguard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Libraries Platform to design, build, and operate the services, pipelines, and package index that power secure, reproducible builds of open source libraries.

You will own automation for artifact creation, vulnerability remediation workflows, SBOM/provenance generation, and policy enforcement across our catalog, with AI-assisted patching and strong emphasis on reliability and collaboration with multiple ecosystem teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, building, and operating infrastructure for language ecosystems or developer platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or readiness to ramp quickly.
• Proven track record building developer tooling and automation that improve how engineers build and ship software at scale.
• Strong background in CI/CD, cloud-native infrastructure, and IaC (Docker/Kubernetes, public clouds, Terraform, GitHub Actions/Argo/Tekton).
• Ability to debug and resolve complex toolchain and infrastructure failures in production and drive lasting fixes.
• Comfortable with SRE/platform/DevOps responsibilities including reliability and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of core Libraries Platform components (services, pipelines, package index).
• Develop automation for artifact creation, updates, verification, SBOM and provenance generation.
• Build toward novel patch generation and AI-assisted patching with tested verification.
• Develop and operate shared platform services like package indexes and registry mirrors.
• Create internal developer tools and CLIs (Go) to improve build/test/ship processes.
• Drive reliability, observability, and incident response for the Libraries platform.
