Job summary

Better Society Capital in London is seeking a Managing Director, Asset Class Leading - Lending, to shape the investment approach and lead a high‑performing team focused on impact and returns. You will report to the Co‑Chief Investment Officers, sit on the Senior Management Team and drive capital deployment across UK lending opportunities that deliver social outcomes and financial resilience.

The role combines disciplined investing with systems change, stakeholder engagement and partnership

Qualifications

Strong track record and understanding of credit investment, including lending to social purpose organisations or blended finance.
Ability to lead and develop a team of investors with accountability for portfolio performance.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships that shift outcomes with government, institutional and mission-driven investors.

Responsibilities

Set the investment strategy and approach for Lending aligned with BSC's goals and risk appetite.
Build and deliver a pipeline of lending opportunities across sub-asset classes.
Present investment recommendations to Investment Committee and support Investment Directors.
Manage portfolio performance in partnership with Impact Investment Management and Finance.
Contribute to portfolio-wide strategic asset allocation and governance forums.
Represent Lending through external speaking, writing and industry engagement.
