East Riding of Yorkshire Council has an exciting opportunity to appoint a full-time permanent Senior Legal Officer to join as a planning lawyer within the Litigation & Regulatory Services Team.

The successful candidate must be a team player with a pro-active and can-do approach, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels across the council including with elected members, senior leadsership team and other stakeholders.

We are seeking a solicitor, barrister or legal executive who will enjoy a varied caseload to advise on all areas of plannng law ranging from household and agricultural development, to large commercial or housing developments. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a large and award winning planning team, dealing with quality work in planning enforcement, drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements, advising and preparing cases for court, appeals and public inquiries and instructing counsel.

Ideally you will have significant experience together with a sound knowledge of planning law. Applications are invited from individuals with experience of either commercial, property, civil or local government law who are looking for a move into the field of planning law in an exciting and changing landscape.

You must be organised, enthusiastic and willing to contribute effectively to a team working in a busy agile environment.
