Our client is open to candidates who would be interested in relocating to Luxembourg and offer relocation support with an international moving service.

Role Overview

The Senior Legal Counsel will join a specialized in-house legal team responsible for legal and regulatory matters impacting product development, partnerships, and compliance. This is a strategic legal role with cross-functional impact, supporting innovation while ensuring regulatory alignment across the EU.

The successful candidate will bring strong fintech and regulatory expertise, with the ability to operate in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The position is based in Luxembourg with a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues across the fintech and payments landscape
• Support product launches and development in compliance with EU regulations (PSD2, MiFID II, etc.)
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts
• Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and internal stakeholders
• Contribute to legal risk assessments and compliance strategies
• Ensure alignment with internal governance and external regulatory obligations

Candidate Profile

• 7+ PQE with strong expertise in payments, fintech, and financial services regulation
• In-house experience preferred, ideally in a product-driven legal team
• Familiarity with PSD2, MiFID II, and other relevant EU directives
• Excellent legal drafting and advisory skills
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Additional European language skills (French, Italian, etc.)
• Previous experience working with international legal teams
• Exposure to fast-paced, high-growth environments
