Aprestigious public sector organisation operating at the heart of the UK'sfinancial system is seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel for a9-month interim contract. This organisation plays a critical role in managinggovernment financing and is internationally recognised for its excellence andinnovation in financial markets.Your new role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will join a collaborative legal team during a period of increased activity. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will provide strategic and operational legal advice across a wide range of areas including debt capital markets, financial regulation, derivatives, lending, fund management, commercial contracts, and public law. You will also contribute to the development of legal processes, documentation, and tech-enabled solutions.
What you'll need to succeed

• Qualification to practise law in England & Wales, ideally with 10-15 years' PQE
• Strong experience in financial markets transactions, commercial contracts, or public law
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and project management skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly
• Flexibility and a proactive attitude to support a wide range of legal matters
• Experience with digital bonds or legal tech is desirable but not essential
• SC security clearance is preferred, but support will be provided for the right candidate
