Job description

The Legal Counsel in South Yorkshire will deliver a full range of legal support across contracts, sales, procurement, data protection, employment, health & safety, and manage panel firms on more complex matters.

Description

The Legal Counsel will be:

  • Advising on commercial contracts; sales, procurement, supply chain (international and domestic)
  • Providing proactive commercial and sales support
  • Managing data protection compliance (UK GDPR, DPIAs)
  • Handling initial employment matters
  • Advising on health and safety legal frameworks
  • Working with panel firms on litigation/complex issues
  • Supporting risk/opportunity assessment across operations
  • Reporting to senior leadership

Profile

The Legal Counsel should be:

  • A solicitor (or equivalent) with 6+ years PQE
  • Skilled in drafting & negotiating commercial agreements
  • Ideally, with international contract experience
  • Confident with data protection and employment matters
  • Able to manage external firms and drive in-house projects
  • Comfortable working autonomously and delivering at pace
  • Strong communicator with solid stakeholder management

Job Offer

  • Fixed-term 6-month contract, immediate start
  • Salary between £75-100k, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working: 2-3 days/week in South Yorkshire office
