Position Summary

This is an exciting role for a UK- or European jurisdiction-qualified lawyer supporting SHEIN’s business and operations in the EMEA region. This role will involve leading on litigation matters in the region working directly with senior stakeholders across the business in our relevant global locations.

The successful candidate must have strong dispute resolution experience, a willingness to embrace and develop expertise in new areas of law, be inquisitive, enthusiastic about e-commerce and innovation, enjoy a fast-paced environment and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgement even in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading on general litigation matters in EMEA by providing strategic advice and legal support to the business
  • Handling a range of commercial disputes, including disputes in relation to IP, competition law, product liability law as a few examples, including liaising with the business to gather evidence for litigation and liaising with and managing external counsel and negotiating settlements
  • Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for resolving legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways
  • Keeping appraised of the latest laws and regulations impacting the company and its operations in the EMEA region and providing practical advice on best practice
  • Working closely with cross-disciplinary teams and the rest of the global legal team to conduct disputes-related risk assessments

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience at a reputable law firm(s) and/or large corporation(s). Good amount of in-house experience required
  • Extensive experience in dispute resolution, ideally with practical experience of IP, competition and/or product liability
  • Experience in case management especially before the UK High Court, IPEC and/or equivalent EU member state Court(s) and/or specialist tribunals
  • Strong analytical ability and written and oral presentation skills efficiently to resolve and minimise legal risk issues
  • High degree of independence, initiative, and good judgement. Commercial and pragmatic in your approach to legal advice whilst maintaining a strong sense of professional accountability and integrity
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with other colleagues in the EMEA and global legal teams, as well as with key stakeholders in the relevant business teams
  • Experience and capacity to lead multi-jurisdictional projects and coordinate external advisors
  • Ability to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the EMEA and global legal teams
