Job summary

An established industry player in the data center sector is seeking an experienced non-contentious Construction Lawyer for a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this pivotal role, you will support the Head of Legal on a variety of construction projects, focusing on drafting and negotiating complex contracts, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of PQE, demonstrating a commercial mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, project-driven environment. Job Description

An immediate need exists for an experienced non-contentious Construction Lawyer to join a leader in the data centre sector on an initial 6-month FTC, supporting the Head of Legal.

In this lead role, working on a pipeline of construction projects, responsibilities will include:

  1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex construction contracts, including supply agreements.
  2. Advising on the implementation of supply chain contracts to key subcontractors, risk management, and related warranty arrangements.
  3. Ensuring appropriate insurance policies and coverage are in place.
  4. Negotiating various operational and maintenance contracts, general commercial agreements, and tenders.
  5. Dispute resolution.
  6. Instructing external counsel when required.

You should have 7+ years PQE, with experience gained in a similar capacity as a non-contentious construction lawyer in-house and/or private practice. A commercial and pragmatic approach, along with the ability to work effectively in a busy, project-based environment, is essential.
