Senior Legal Counsel

Industry: Insurance

Salary: up to £120,000

Location: Can be based in London, Leeds, or Norfolk (2 days per week in the office, 3 days from home)

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join a multinational insurance company on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the technical underwriting team and internal stakeholders to review, develop, and refine standard and bespoke policy documentation.
• Provide legal advice on commercial insurance policy wordings and endorsements.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Ensure policy wordings adapt to evolving coverage issues.

Requirements:

• Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales or a foreign jurisdiction, with experience in the London market.
• Significant experience in drafting, reviewing, and managing commercial policy wordings.
• Ability to collaborate with underwriters, brokers, and external partners to negotiate and refine policy documentation, including complex wording queries.
• Understanding of Financial Lines and London market wordings is preferred.
• Candidates from private practice or insurance sectors are encouraged to apply.
