Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts

Job Purpose

As Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts, you will advise our business, manage, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts across marketing and technology sectors. Collaborating with teams across the UK, US, and Europe, you will ensure legal compliance while supporting commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as master service agreements, statements of work, service level agreements, supplier contracts, and licensing agreements (IP, AI, software).
  • Provide advice on UK contract law and best practices, focusing on risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Support the development of contract templates, policies, and legal workflows.
  • Partner with business teams to identify and mitigate legal risks while achieving goals.
  • Stay updated on UK law changes, including data protection (UK GDPR) and technology-related legal developments.
Qualifications
  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Strong knowledge of UK contract law; experience with European legal frameworks is a plus.
  • At least 6 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house role, preferably with digital marketing, advertising, or technology sectors.
  • Experience in commercial contracts within service industries.
  • Pragmatic, business-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
  • Proactive, independent team player comfortable in a fast-paced, international environment.
