Salary: Circa £90,000

Location: UK Flexible - hybrid based role — 50% in-office, must be able to commute to one of our offices.

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Overview

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts. You’ll join our Commercial & Outsourcing legal team which sits within Aviva Group, helping to manage legal risk and deliver expert advice. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, advising on commercial contracts and third-party negotiations – making a real impact every day.

  • Provide expert legal advice on commercial contracts and third-party negotiations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to manage legal risk and ensure compliant contracting practices
Skills and experience we’re looking for
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with multiple years of post-qualification experience
  • Strong background in commercial contracts, including procurement, outsourcing, and supply chain agreements
  • Skilled negotiator with experience managing third-party relationships and balancing legal and commercial risks
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and confident working both independently and collaboratively
