Job description

As Senior Legal Counsel of this dynamic and growing business, you will be able to work in an autonomous way supporting a number of business units with a range of commercial legal matters and projects.

Our client is a very well known tech and internet consumer/ insights brand and requires someone who can adapt to change and differing priorities, apply commercial legal knowledge to a range of areas and have a pragmatic and commercial approach to legal challenges.

You Will be joining a small team of 4 and be able to operate as part of a team but also autonomously and with confidence.

Our client is also very welcoming of a part time hire (4 days a week) OR a full time hire.

This role will be to support in a number of key areas and will support a key tech and data business unit of the group:

– Commercial Contracts (Procurement, Technology, Marketing & Advertising, Sponsorship)

– Employment matters

– Data Privacy/ GDPR

– Compliance and Regulatory

– Leading on projects and business initiatives

– Supporting the General Counsel closely on other business matters

– Supporting junior members of the team when required

The successful candidate will likely have:

– Have a minimum of 7 years PQE

– Have experience in house in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment

– Be able to draft and negotiate customer contracts and advise stakeholders in a very commercial and pragmatic way to support business growth while protecting the business from unnecessary risk.

– Experience in technology setting or in another sector where technology, SaaS and broader commercial contracts have been a key point of focus throughout the years

– An ability to build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders

– B2B & B2C Experience would be useful

– An interest in really getting to know the business and adding value beyond legal matters and being part of a collaborative and impactful legal team.

Start date: ASAP (Likely June 2025)

Working arrangements: This can be based in London or with great amount of flexibility to work from home/ remotely as long as there is a willingness to be in the office on an ad-hoc basis.
