Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in London. In this capacity, you will manage a wide range of regulatory, corporate, financing, and compliance-related legal issues and transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate structure and governance to support the business activities of non-Gabon entities, and coordinate with Gabon counsel for necessary activities. In collaboration with the wider team and external counsel, where required, you will manage claims, disputes, and litigation, support the finance group in corporate authorizations and KYC, and provide compliance and operational contract support to various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive legal assistance across all departments.
• Draft, negotiate, and review complex legal documents and contracts.
• Support corporate governance activities, including board and shareholder meetings, as required.
• Manage claims, disputes, and litigation.
• Offer compliance contract support to HR, HSSE, CSR, and Operations.
• Provide legal assistance to the C&P department to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, and in negotiating favorable terms for the business.
• Develop, review, and provide training on relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 4-8 years PQE qualified in the UK.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in upstream oil and gas contracting is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
• Available for occasional travel to Gabon.
