Job summary

A growing law firm in London seeks a legal cashier to manage day-to-day cashiering and accounts tasks. Ideal candidates will possess at least 18 months of legal cashier experience and a solid grasp of SRA procedures and HMRC regulations, ensuring compliance in all transaction processes.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 months experience as a legal cashier or legal accounts assistant.
  • Strong understanding of legal accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Check incoming office/client receipts and transfers daily.
  • Maintain client account transactions and deal with billing and purchase ledger updates.
  • Reconcile petty cash and bank accounts weekly.

Skills

Understanding of SRA procedures
Familiarity with HMRC regulations

Expanding City law firm are looking for a legal cashier to assist with all aspects of day to day cashiering and accounts functions. Expected duties include checking incoming office / client receipts and transfers – check online banking system regularly throughout the day for updated activity, maintain all client account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts rules and dealing with queries relating to client accounts, bank reconciliations, billing and purchase ledger updates,petty cash – reconciling on a weekly basis, checking all slips are signed appropriately with supporting documentation, and bill processing.

It is essential that you have a background as a legal cashier / legal accounts assistant (at least 18 months experience) and possess a strong understanding of SRA procedures and HMRC regulations.
