Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Risk & Actuarial Studies in Sydney, Australia. The role focuses on maintaining and expanding scholarly research, teaching responsibilities, and engagement with academia, industry, government, and communities.

The position offers visa sponsorship, relocation support, and a competitive salary supplement for suitably qualified candidates. Appointments are at Level B or Level C depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• A PhD in a related discipline (e.g., actuarial studies, risk and insurance, insurance economics, or similar).
• Capability to contribute to, and further expand on, the school's core research and teaching strengths in actuarial analytics, risk management, retirement and pensions, including AI and climate risk.
• Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.

Responsibilities

• Make independent research contributions with high impact and national recognition.
• Attract funding and oversee research income through national grants and fellowships.
• Develop curricula and supervise HDR students; mentor colleagues and foster teaching excellence.
