An established industry player is seeking ambitious scientists for senior lectureship positions in biotechnology. We seek to appoint three outstanding and ambitious scientists to senior lectureship / reader positions based within the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) at the University of Manchester (UoM).
The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment with state-of-the-art facilities to develop their research group and expand collaborations. In addition to high-quality research, you will be expected to contribute to teaching. We are open to high-quality applications from across the broad engineering biology and biotechnology landscape. Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to natural product biosynthesis and enzyme discovery; structural biology and mechanistic enzymology; and microbial engineering.
Alongside your CV, please include a two-page research statement detailing your future research plans as a senior group leader.
The MIB is a flagship UoM Research Institute that has played a pivotal role in the development of engineering biology and related biotechnology research, both in the UK and globally. Our research spans fundamental bioscience discoveries and technology development, through to commercial impact and real-world applications. MIB houses state-of-the-art research laboratories and an impressive range of specialist facilities, including automated robotics platforms, NMR, fast-reaction/laser facilities, mass spectrometry, protein crystallography, high-throughput analytical platforms, gene sequencing, computation, and small-scale fermentation. These facilities are managed by dedicated senior technical experts who offer specialist services and training, enabling our staff to conduct the highest quality interdisciplinary research at the forefront of biotechnology.
