Overview

Post Title: Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal)

FTE: 1.0FTE (working 37 hours a week)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Salary: UH8 £46,049pa pro rata to £58,225pa pro rata by annual increments

Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Physiotherapy team within the School of Health, Medicine & Life Sciences. You will play an essential role both in the delivery of our educational programmes and supporting students gaining the skills to succeed.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for the teaching and assessment of pre-registration and/or postgraduate Physiotherapy students at the University and support them whilst they are on their practice placement site.
  • You will utilise current evidence-base to underpin teaching and learning activities.
  • You may participate as required in the development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School.
  • You will contribute to the administration of the School by undertaking additional roles if required, such as being a module lead and joining teams involved in activities such as admissions, timetabling or placement support.
  • You will undertake and contribute to Physiotherapy research where appropriate.
  • You will also be expected to contribute to the on-going evaluation and review of the School’s activities and contribute to curriculum developments; including development, delivery and teaching on short courses such as the FCP courses where relevant.
Skills and Experience
  • You will be an experienced practising Physiotherapist with the HCPC with recent academic and/or clinical experience and understanding of the UK system.
  • You will have a broad range of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
  • Your application will demonstrate a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary Physiotherapy practice and it is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient in the English Language.
  • You will demonstrate a willingness to undertake physiotherapy research if appropriate and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • You will be able to work without close supervision, have the ability to organise yourself and others, take initiative and be self-motivating, and be adaptable to change and flexible to team and workload requirements.
  • You must be willing to contribute to inter-professional teaching and learning activities, with an interest in evidence-based healthcare.
Qualifications
  • The successful applicant will be educated with an Honours degree in (or equivalent level 6 qualification) in Physiotherapy and have a Master’s degree (or equivalent level 7 qualification and/or demonstrate substantial clinical experience) in a relevant subject.
  • It is essential that you are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist and have membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
