Job summary

The Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) at Queen's University Belfast invites applications for a lecturer / senior lecturer role to design and deliver postgraduate teaching across Professional Skills and Development, Private Client and Public Law, and related modules.

The successful candidate will lead in innovative teaching, including online and hybrid delivery, contribute to assessments, supervise IPLS trainees, coordinate moot and international skills-based activities, and support

Qualifications

Minimum 2:1 degree in Law or equivalent.
Qualified as a Solicitor/Barrister in Northern Ireland.
Must be in good standing with the relevant professional body.
At least 3 years post-qualification experience as a Solicitor/Barrister.
Experience in teaching Legal Skills, Private Client and/or Public Law in the past three years.
Evidence of managing and leading significant teaching developments (Senior Lecturer).
Experience at third level teaching (Lecturer).
Experience and reputation in designing courses at undergraduate/postgraduate level.

Responsibilities

Design, deliver and develop holistic teaching and assessment activities for IPLS postgraduate programmes.
Develop innovative teaching approaches, including online and hybrid delivery and emerging technologies.
Organise and develop participation of IPLS trainees in national and international moots and skills competitions.
Develop, design and deliver international skills-based training for students and CPD.
Assist in development, supervision, assessment and enhancement of the LLM in Advanced Legal Practice.
