About This Role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Filmmaking to join our multiple award-winning UG and PGT Filmmaking programmes in the School of Arts based at City Campus.

You will be expected to deliver on a variety of filmmaking modules, however we have a specific interest in those with skills and experience in scripted drama and commercial producing and directing; cinematography; production design or post production editing/ sound design/grading/VFX.

About You

  • You will have extensive and recent industry experience, with the ability and experience to contribute to the academic teaching teams at UG and PGT levels.
  • You will also contribute to the development of professional practice aspects of student development relating to employability, professional practice, and work experience.
  • Please identify in your application your specialist disciplines (detailed above) and the extent of your teaching and industry experience in these areas.

This post is based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed and is home to UWE Bristol's creative and cultural subjects.

Interviews are scheduled to take place at our Bower Ashton/City Campus.

We have 2 permanent posts, 1 is full-time working on a 1.0FTE or part time on a 0.6 FTE contract.

We anticipate a high level of interest in the post.

Therefore, we intend to conduct a two-stage recruitment process. Following the application closing date we will establish a shortlist and request a short video teaching presentation that addresses a key concept of your choice that you feel is appropriate for UG students in this subject and draws upon examples from your own practice.

If you have been shortlisted you will be contacted by July 9 and asked to provide a video presentation by July 16. Interviews will take place on July 23 and 24.
