Birmingham City University offers a vibrant campus located in the heart of the city. We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Construction Management and Apprentice Lead for the College of Built Environment to join our dynamic team. This role is suitable for an experienced individual from academic, professional, or industry backgrounds aiming to advance their career while contributing to a modern, well-funded campus.
As Apprentice Lead, you will collaborate with the programme team to facilitate reviews among apprentices, employers, and academic staff. Your primary focus will be ensuring our apprenticeship programmes deliver excellent learning experiences that meet employer and apprentice expectations, aligned with professional body standards.
You will work closely with academic staff and apprenticeship managers to maintain quality and compliance standards, organize visits for quality reviews, and prepare for audits and Ofsted inspections. You will also serve as a personal academic tutor and support learners with additional needs, engaging actively with employers and apprentices.
Your responsibilities include teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and Degree Apprentice schemes in Construction Project Management. You should be research-active, with expertise in Construction Project Management and/or Quantity Surveying.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Construction Project Management or a related field; a relevant professional qualification is desirable. A strong publication record and experience as a Course Leader for Degree Apprenticeships are preferred, along with experience in demanding academic environments.
