The full-time starting salary is normally £52,996.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £57,602.00 per annum.

Birmingham City University invites applications for Senior Lecturer in Computer Networks to support and advance its growth in the networks and cyber security discipline.
The University focuses on practice-led, problem-based learning, providing access to cutting-edge facilities and real-world experience. Our staff are research active, and engaged externally, maintaining currency and strong links with industry, ensuring students are given an insight into the growing area of networking and networked systems to help them learn and succeed.
We are looking to recruit exceptional academic staff who are at the forefront of the networking discipline, believe in practice-based learning, demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills, possess exceptional communication skills, and are team players.
You will support teaching & learning for undergraduate and postgraduate modules, provide pastoral care to students, engage in research, and contribute to recruitment and outreach activities. You will develop and deliver engaging teaching and learning as part of the cybersecurity team, in various settings from tutorials to lectures. You will also set and mark assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will contribute to subject leadership at module and course levels, managing teams to deliver student outcomes. You will also participate in curriculum design and development, aligning with market trends and innovations within the subject.
With an awareness of inclusive practices, you will provide pastoral support to students, helping them develop skills to meet industry demands in networking and networked systems.
You will explore and implement ways to improve teaching performance through reflection and feedback analysis. Engaging in research and enterprise activities, you will seek external funding and publish in reputable venues.
You should possess core networking skills in areas such as Content Networking, IoT, SDN, and NFV, with strong university-level teaching experience and a track record of research publications. Experience in developing research proposals for external funding is also desired. Candidates with expertise in Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and AI are encouraged to apply. Membership of professional bodies, industry certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP), and professional registration (e.g., CITP, CEng) are advantageous.
