The Manchester School of Architecture, ranked 5th in the QS world university rankings, is a collaboration between Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Manchester. The school has a strong heritage in technological innovation, from the industrial revolution to recent advances like graphene. We seek a Senior Lecturer in Architecture - Technologies Lead to lead construction and material technologies across our programs, including BA, M.Arch, and postgraduate courses in Landscape, Urbanism, and Adaptive Reuse. The role involves teaching core content on technology and environment, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, and leading staff within this area.
The ideal candidate will have experience in architectural practice across various scales and contemporary contexts, including digital technologies, materials, construction, fabrication, and environmental design. They should be capable of teaching all project stages, from creative to technical and regulatory aspects.
The role includes overseeing modules that cover principles of construction, materials, structures, environment, and regulatory implications, ensuring alignment with PSRB standards. Strategic thinking, curriculum development, and resource management are essential skills. The candidate should possess previous teaching experience, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to ensure an inspiring student experience.
