Job summary

The University of Cambridge is seeking a Deputy Head of Counselling and Wellbeing (Student Support) to lead a high-demand service and deliver strategic development under the 2026-2029 plan. The role requires accreditation/registration with a UK regulatory body and a strong leadership track record in counselling or psychotherapy within higher education.

You will work closely with the Head of Counselling and Wellbeing and a second Deputy, guiding staff to deliver best-in-class care while advancing

Qualifications

• Accreditation or registration with UK regulatory body (BACP/UKCP/BABCP/HCPC).
• Experience in counselling/psychotherapy leadership.
• Experience in higher education settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership oversight of counselling and wellbeing service operations.
• Lead strategic programmes and service developments in Student Support.
• Demonstrate compassionate and effective leadership for staff.
• Contribute to delivering best practice in counselling and psychological therapies.
