Job summary

Autotech-Recruit-Limited in Croydon seeks a Senior Lead Vehicle Technician to join a growing automotive business. You will lead diagnostics and undertake complex engine work, guiding colleagues to maintain high workshop standards.

The role offers a Monday–Friday pattern, a competitive salary (£40,000–£45,000), ongoing training, and clear long-term career prospects within a supportive workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with strong diagnostic capability.
• Experience completing complex mechanical repairs and engine work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Lead Technician experience is advantageous.
• Level 3 qualification preferred, EV qualifications beneficial.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out advanced diagnostics and fault finding.
• Undertake complex mechanical repairs and maintenance.
• Complete major engine and timing-related work including wet belts, timing belts and timing chains.
• Support workshop productivity and technical standards.
• Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest quality.
• Assist colleagues with technical guidance where required.
• Maintain accurate repair records and job documentation.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly skilled Vehicle Technician to join a growing automotive business as a Lead Technician. This role is ideally suited to a strong diagnostic technician who enjoys tackling complex repairs and supporting workshop standards. Candidates from both independent garages and franchise dealerships are encouraged to apply.
