As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Banking, Data, Analytics & Technology division, you will play a pivotal role in an agile team committed to enhancing, creating, and delivering high-quality technology products securely, stably, and on a scalable basis. Your abilities and contributions will significantly influence the business, and your deep technical knowledge and problem-solving tactics will be utilized to tackle a broad spectrum of challenges across diverse technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and support to the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code
• Drive decisions on product design, application functionality, and technical operations
• Serve as a subject matter expert in key focus areas
• Contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC practices
• Influence peers and decision-makers to adopt leading-edge technologies
• Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied experience
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language
• Deep knowledge of software applications and technical disciplines such as cloud, AI, ML, mobile, etc.
• Ability to independently resolve design and functionality challenges
• Experience with data analytics on AWS platforms
• Proficiency in writing efficient SQL, implementing complex ETL transformations on big data platforms
• Experience with Big Data technologies like Spark, Impala, Hive, Redshift, Kafka
• Experience in data quality testing, writing test cases, and resolving data issues
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Iceberg

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience in real-time application and data design, e.g., Kafka
• Understanding of the Commercial & Investment Bank business
• Proficiency with database and BI tools, and presenting data effectively
• Experience in Financial Services and Investment Banking
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, Cassandra
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server
