Job summary

Andrew Simpson Foundation in Portsmouth seeks an experienced RYA Senior Instructor to join as Senior Lead Instructor. You will plan and deliver sailing and watersports programmes, develop instructors, and oversee day-to-day centre operations on a rota with senior staff.

You will also assess and mark elements of further education courses, deliver customer service, and support centre administration in a busy activity centre setting.

Qualifications

• Current RYA Senior Instructor qualification in Dinghy Sailing and experience at this level.
• Excellent customer service and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Flexible approach and ability to take responsibility for centre operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and oversee watersports and land-based programmes in line with qualifications and experience.
• Lead large activity days, sailing courses, and activities for individuals, schools and groups.
• Support the Chief Instructor with instructor deployment and development, guiding sessions and safety standards.
• Help deliver staff training and continuing professional development.
• Take charge of centre operations on a rota with other senior staff.
• Plan, deliver, assess, and mark elements of further education courses.
• Support care, storage, repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Provide welcoming, professional customer service, answer enquiries, bookings, and centre administration.
