ECOM are proud to be partnered with an award-winning consultancy here in Manchester who are looking for a Senior or Lead Platform Engineer to join the business either as a permanent employee or on a 12 month fixed-term contract. As a Senior / Lead Platform Engineer, you'll take charge of designing, planning, and executing robust DevOps strategies for individual projects and across varying teams.

As a Senior or Lead DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with modern DevOps principles. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, selecting automation tools for performance and security, and acting as a DevOps expert to guide teams. You'll identify opportunities for improvement, drive the adoption of best practices, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the growth of the engineering team. Additionally, you'll stay engaged with industry trends to bring innovative solutions into your work.

Key Requirements

- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for software deployment across different environments, including production.
- Hands-on experience with zero-downtime deployment in production environments.
- Proficiency in managing cloud environments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and container orchestration.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems.
- Proven expertise in automating tasks using bash and shell scripting.
- Skilled in configuring CI pipelines for running and reporting automated tests (functional and non-functional).
- Knowledge of security best practices for maintaining and improving the security of live systems, including automated vulnerability detection and patching.
- Leadership experience, mentoring team members in DevOps techniques and practices.
- Strong planning skills, with the ability to align DevOps methodologies with business goals and timelines.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (e.g., Scrum, Agile Delivery).

Based in South Manchester, you will be required to be onsite 5 days per week. Due to this, our client is currently only accepting candidates who live within a commutable distance to their HQ.
