The role

Kin + Carta is looking to hire a Senior/Lead Google Cloud Engineer to join our growing team. If you are passionate about building innovative cloud solutions and eager to learn, this role is for you! The engineer will support application and data teams by providing a robust platform for deployment and building highly available infrastructure solutions.

What you can expect

  • Work with internal and client teams to implement solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Deploy services using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Consult with clients on Google Cloud practices and contribute to workshops.
  • Engage in projects such as:
  • Building Google Cloud foundations and landing zones.
  • Migrating workloads from on-premise and other clouds.
  • Developing data and AI platforms with data engineering SMEs.
  • Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines, promote Google Cloud services, and assist with proof of concepts.
  • Create high-quality documentation.
  • Support Google Cloud partnership initiatives and internal community.
  • Opportunities for career growth within cloud engineering.

The type of person we’d like to meet

  • At least 2 years of experience with core Google Cloud services like IAM, networking, and security.
  • Experience with compute services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, and App Engine.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Experience with Google Cloud databases like Cloud SQL, Spanner, or AlloyDB.
  • Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Cloud Engineer, Cloud Developer, Cloud Architect).
  • Focus on security best practices.
  • Ability to adapt in dynamic technical environments.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to stay updated on Google Cloud technologies.
  • Internal motivation to learn and succeed.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Experience with Google Cloud data tools like BigQuery and Dataflow.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud services like Vertex AI and CCAI.
  • Experience with multi-cloud solutions.
  • Additional certifications in AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java and Python.
