As a Senior / Lead Data Engineer, you’ll be actively involved in developing mission-critical technical solutions that focus on data services for our National Security customers.

A Senior / Lead Data Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing complex data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics, and business intelligence (BI) systems.

You will be responsible for:

  • Recognising and sharing opportunities to reuse existing data flows between teams.
  • Building data-streaming systems.
  • Coordinating teams and setting best practices and standards.
  • Applying knowledge of systems integration.
  • Developing data pipelines, including data ingestion and orchestration design and tooling.
  • Integrating and enriching data from various sources, ensuring data consistency and quality.
  • Designing and coding ETL processes, such as NiFi.
  • Creating open and reusable code.
  • Maintaining and developing existing architectural components, including Data Ingest and Data Stores.
  • Investigating and diagnosing issues with integrated data as part of an operational team.
  • Understanding user needs versus desires.
  • Implementing data security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Assisting the scrum team in decomposing user requests into epics and stories.
  • Writing clean, secure, test-driven code.
  • Monitoring data systems for performance issues and updating as necessary.

GLOUCESTER - Our Gloucester site is located in a business park near junction 11A of the M5, offering easy access to local clients. Set on the Cotswolds' outskirts, it’s perfect for scenic views and walks during lunch breaks.

Clearances:

This role requires eligibility for DV clearance. You must be a British citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 10 years.
