Senior / Lead Core Java Developer (VP) Belfast

Overview

What We do / The Team

COMET is a global Equities Order Management System used by Citi traders and sales traders to trade equities, derivatives, convertible bonds etc. It provides functionality for users to perform post-trading tasks such as allocations and ticketing.

Role Overview/What will you do:

  • Delivery of our Cash, derivatives OMS product globally
  • Close engagement with Equities Sales and Trading desks to understand key functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to extend functionality and enhance performance of existing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards and methodologies.
  • Design and implement automated integration testing.
  • Provide second line support, including out of hours, for the processes and components you develop.

Key Skills and Experience required

  • Primary development expertise in core Java, including knowledge of collections, IO, multi-threading, and generics.
  • Proven leadership experience in a matrix managed environment.
  • Highly motivated self-starter comfortable with new challenges and learning new technologies.
  • Experience with build tools such as Gradle and Maven.
  • Familiarity with Linux and standard developer tooling such as Git, BitBucket/GitHub, Jira, Confluence.
  • Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications in Java.
  • Experience managing and implementing successful projects.

Bonus points for

Experience or familiarity working on Equities trading platforms.
