Job summary

Universal Care Group in Walsall is seeking an experienced Children’s Residential Senior Support Worker to join our Ofsted residential home. You will act as a key worker, provide guidance, and support a team to maintain high standards of care.

The role requires previous Senior/Team Leader experience, ability to supervise shifts, manage risk assessments, and liaise with social workers and families. Training for medication administration is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior/Team Leader is essential.
• Ability to lead a team and supervise shifts.
• Strong recording and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality support to Children and Young People using a person-centred approach.
• Act as a key worker for individual children where appropriate.
• Lead and guide staffing in emergency or complex situations.
• Support activities and development in home and community settings.
• Maintain records of daily activities and support provided.
• Assist with risk assessments to protect health, safety, and welfare.
• Liaise with Social Workers and parents as required.
• Supervise other Support Workers and ensure smooth shift operations.
• Ensure Ofsted standards are implemented in practice.
• Administer medication and complete room checks (training provided).
• Carry out regular checks to supervise staff and maintain care quality.
