Job summary

Walsall Community Network is seeking a Senior Lead Child Protection Practitioner in Walsall to lead multi‑agency child protection practice. You will oversee Child Protection Enquiries, supervise Lead Child Protection Practitioners, and collaborate with partners to drive training and ensure timely, robust safeguarding decisions for children at risk.

Applicants should have extensive post-qualifying social work experience, and a background as a practice supervisor, team manager or child protection

Qualifications

• Extensive post qualifying social work experience within a local authority or equivalent.
• Experience as a practice supervisor, team manager or child protection chair.

Responsibilities

• Lead alongside the multi‑agency network around a family to ensure high-standard child protection practice.
• Line-manage a small group of Lead Child Protection Practitioners and work with partners in the Multi Agency Child Protection Team.
• Support the delivery of training across the partnership and lead initiatives to oversee child protection plans and reduce risk.
• Ensure decisions for children at risk of significant harm are timely and robust, using a multi-agency network.
