Job summary

Walsall Council is recruiting for a Senior Lead Child Protection Practitioner to lead across a multi-agency network, ensuring timely and robust decisions for children at risk of harm. You will supervise, oversee protection plans and contribute to training across the partnership.

The role requires extensive post-qualifying experience, with opportunities for development and a strong safeguarding focus within the Children’s Services directorate.

Qualifications

• Extensive post-qualifying social work experience.
• Experience as a practice supervisor, team manager or child protection chair.
• Ability to influence the direction of child protection across Walsall.

Responsibilities

• Lead alongside the multi-agency network around a family to ensure high standards of child protection practice.
• Oversee Child Protection Enquiries and Child Protection Plans.
• Directly line-manage a small group of Lead Child Protection Practitioners and work with partners to deliver training.
