Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in London seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer to guide an agile squad in delivering secure, scalable, market-leading technology for eTrading and allied platforms.

The successful candidate will own design decisions, drive AI-assisted development practices, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to raise code quality and operational excellence in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and extensive applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced knowledge in programming languages C and C++.
• Experience leading enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for AI outputs validation.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity, secure handling, and security/reliability expectations.
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with depth in cloud/AI/ML/mobile.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little oversight.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance to support the FICC eTrading business and its teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more focus areas.
• Contributes to engineering community through firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
• Influences peers to adopt leading-edge technologies.
• Supports team culture of diversity and inclusion.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value at scale.
