About the Role

Haringey legal services is establishing an innovative disrepair team within the litigation department, dedicated solely to housing disrepair cases. Join our Lexcel-accredited legal service, known for excellent client care. Our in-house Housing Disrepair Legal Team offers a unique opportunity to shape team culture from the ground up and set new service standards within the council.

As a Senior Lawyer in this team, you will provide expert legal advice on housing disrepair cases, manage your own caseload, oversee case progression, and understand client needs deeply. You will supervise junior staff and support senior management in team development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Knowledge of housing/ASB litigation legislation and case law
• Experience in advocacy in Magistrates or County Court
• Qualified solicitor, barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Strong team collaboration skills and ability to interact effectively with legal and support staff, clients, and consultants
• Ability to provide accessible, specialist advice to diverse stakeholders
