Job summary

Insight Executive Group is seeking a senior land & development surveyor for Wiltshire local authorities. Initial 6-month contract with a day rate of £400–£450 inside IR35, hybrid work, and an ASAP start.

The role focuses on professional development advice for both commercial and residential portfolios, staff supervision, and case allocation. Valuation work must align with CIPFA/RICS guidance and council rules. Lettings and tenancy administration are included.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering professional development on property portfolios.
• Ability to supervise and appraise teams working to the postholder.
• Knowledge of statutory codes and professional guidance (CIPFA/RICS).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional development advice on the commercial and residential property portfolio.
• Manage staff working to the postholder through procedural control including key result areas and development and staff appraisal techniques.
• Allocate cases, and give guidance, supervise, direct as well as ensure completion of assigned cases.
• Assess/identify, monitor and supervise the professional training needs of the staff working to the postholder.
• Ensure that valuation work undertaken by staff working to the postholder is in accordance with the Statutory Code and CIPFA and RICS Practice Statements and Guidance Notes and is in compliance with the Council's standing orders, financial regulations, codes and practices.
• Manage the letting, renewal and ongoing administration of commercial and agricultural tenancies.
