Senior Land Development Manager

£85,000 + discretionary bonus

South Coast, UK (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Land and Development Manager to join an expanding Land and New Business Team based on the South Coast. The development program includes Section 106 opportunities, Joint Venture Partnerships, and land-led delivery projects.

This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, with at least 20% office-based work.

The Land and New Business Team is central to the new homes program, responsible for identifying and acquiring new opportunities and establishing build contracts for project delivery.

This role will focus on supporting the execution of significant schemes already in the pipeline and providing technical input for new acquisitions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting to ensure projects are within budget and on schedule, with reporting on Value for Money.
  • Collaborating with Employers Agents to procure contractors, establish contracts, and ensure compliance with legislation. Managing costs and reporting on contract progress and expenditures.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks, developing strategies to minimize financial exposure, and reviewing integration of new business strategies like Future Homes.
  • Managing tender processes, preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating with contractors.
  • Identifying development sites, conducting feasibility studies, and negotiating land acquisitions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior/Development Manager or Project Manager, preferably in housing or social housing sectors.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, project management tools, Proval, Argus, Sequel).

A driving license and a car for business use are essential.
