Senior Ladieswear Buyer

Location: Leeds


Salary: £45k to £50k pa (2 days WFH)


We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Ladieswear Buyer for our client near Leeds, offering a unique and exciting alternative to other UK clothing catalogues.

Purpose of the role:

  • Lead the ladieswear buying team to develop remarkable products across multiple categories and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Source and negotiate prices to meet GM targets and quality standards.
  • Implement new processes as the business expands.
Main Activities:
  • Build a seasonal range that exceeds budget expectations, offering remarkable, interesting, and exciting products aligned with the brand identity.
  • Achieve margin targets and adhere to pricing strategies.
  • Utilize knowledge of market trends and competitors to define ranges and find new sales opportunities.
  • Analyze sales data and performance reports to identify missed opportunities.
  • Present range proposals for approval to owners/CEO.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Work with QA team to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with merchandising on seasonal planning and frameworks to exceed expectations.
  • Maintain organized administration and documentation.
  • Manage sustainability initiatives aligned with targets.
  • Oversee critical path alongside merchandising and QA departments.
  • Support and develop Assistant Buyers and Junior Buyers.
  • Coordinate with creative teams on content and pagination for catalogues.
  • Deliver photography briefs for product launches.
Skills & Experience:

You should have at least 5 years of buying experience within the womenswear retail sector, with a strong product knowledge. A good understanding of multi-channel retailing complexities is essential.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are required, along with strong numerical and analytical abilities to optimize trading performance.

A BA Honours degree is desirable but not essential.
