Job summary

Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Band 7 Labour Ward Coordinator to join the maternity leadership team at York Hospital. You will provide visible clinical leadership and oversee staffing, patient flow and capacity across shifts, ensuring safe, compassionate care.

You will act as senior midwife outside core hours, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and leading escalation and governance activities to continually improve maternity services.

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with current NMC registration.
• Experience leading a maternity team or ward.
• Ability to coordinate staffing, patient flow and capacity outside core hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership on the Labour Ward.
• Coordinate staffing, patient flow, capacity and clinical activity
• Act as senior midwife outside core hours to oversee care and escalation processes.
