About the role…
The WIC, based at the Francis Crick Institute, is one of seven WHO Collaborating Centres for Reference and Research in Influenza. These centres are key parts of the WHO GISRS, analyzing influenza samples from over 150 countries and supporting pandemic preparedness activities, including zoonotic influenza research in high containment laboratories.
In this role, you will manage daily operations within the seasonal influenza laboratory and contribute to zoonotic influenza research. You will work at all containment levels, isolating and propagating influenza viruses, and phenotypically/genetically characterizing them for reports to WHO and other stakeholders.
